Whenever I can't find God, I go to the beach and there He is....saying, "Where have you been? I've been waiting for you..."
Meet Jack & Jill (for realz!). They both turned 79 years young this month.
I watched them for an hour today. She in her pink hat and he with his excessively hairy back. They held hands and JUMPED into the waves as they crashed into the shore. When I say JUMP - I mean feet off the ground, arms in the air, giggling and smiling and sometimes falling down. He never took his left hand off her - not once. If he wasn't holding her hand, he was touching her arm or her back while they jumped like children in and out of waves....and I couldn't take my eyes off them.
When they got tired (which took a full hour), they walked back up the beach and I had the opportunity to engage them in conversation. That's when I learned their names, their ages and that they were at the beach celebrating their wedding anniversary.
"OH! Congratulations!" I said, "How many years?" (expecting to hear 40...50...60), to which Jack responded (with the biggest, cheekiest grin I've ever seen), "We'll be married one year this Sunday!"
May we all be as blessed as Jack & Jill at 79 years....with a hand to hold and the courage to jump right into the waves!
Love them!!
