This is a long curving beach located along the Garden Route near George, South Africa.
There are rocky cliffs at one end and then a long stretch of dunes and sand broken up by a lagoon. The water in the lagoon gets quite deep sometimes and is a good alternative to rough currents.
The water is warm about three quarters of the year since it is the warm Indian Ocean. Whales usually come to calve at one corner during a certain time of year.
The beach is bordered by a double row of houses that have been there a long time. On the other side of them is a set of railroad tracks and then a highway, with resorts on the other side. There used to be an excursion steam train that came through from George to Knysna, but a flood wiped out parts of the tracks a few years ago...
